"Abe" won the Open Weanling Stallion Futurity at the Holiday ClassicPaint Horse Show (5th largest APHA Show in the country) over the New Years weekend.!!!!!!!!
Putting him up for sale was a tough decision. But with the number of broodmares I have due to foal in the spring, I need to make decisions about space. Abe was shown at the 2009 Tulsa State Fair and did very well placing 2nd in the Ok. Pinto Horse Club Weanling Stallion Owners Colt Futurity, 2nd in the Tri- Color Futurity, and 3rd in the TSF Stock Type Early Weanling Stallions and Geldings. I changed up his feeding program and he has made dramatic gains. He is currently being fit for the Ok Paint Horse Club Holiday Classic at the end of dec. and have until Dec 11 to decide. He is straight legged, has a wonderful head and neck and a great big hip. I have no doubt he will do well as a yearling at halter and should excel in lunge-line. I bought this mare from a samll breeder in Texas. He admitted that although he had some EXTREMELY well bred horses, he didn't have the time or know-how to feed them to reach their full potential. As a result she didn't grow UP like she should have. But since being at my place, she has put on weight (she wasn't poor) and has started filling out and showing the characteristics of her breeding. This is a nice BIG correct colt! If he had a spot on him he wouldn't be for sale. This colt was recently won Championships in the Big Boy Futurity, the Ok. Pinto Stallion Service Auction Breeding Stock Futurity and his fair class at the 2009 Tulsa State Fair. He is going to be a very large animal, and in the right hands will continue to be a winner! He is straight and correct, has a tiny head and ears, and the breeding to back him up. He has never been properly fit on but was the unanimous choice of the judges and spectators. With some work he would be a World Show contender. He is double registered (Paint and Pinto).
He is sired by my APHA Superior stallion Dontcha Luv Magic, who is a Reserve World Champion Sire. His dam is Tender But Spicy (QH). You can see a half sister that accomplished the same feats, plus being judged Reserve Grand Champion at the same show in 2008. In 2007, another half sister was a futurity winner.
I will have 6 babies in the spring and wont have time to devote to him with the new babies coming and another colt that I'm keeping. He will make an excellent gelding, and is elegible for these same futurities as a yearling and 2yr old.
